Utah drivers ed guide
Utah families start with a choice of course: every applicant from 15 through 18 must finish approved driver education, taught as 27 classroom hours in high school, 18 at a commercial school or 30 online, plus 6 hours in the car with an instructor. At 19 the course becomes optional if you hold a permit 90 days and log 40 hours. After a ticket, eligible drivers 21 and older can seek Deferred Traffic Prosecution, and a defensive driving course can take off up to 50 points.
