Pennsylvania drivers ed guide
Two agencies share the job in Pennsylvania: PennDOT licenses drivers and the Department of Education signs off on driver education programs. A junior license needs no course, but a teen who wants full privileges at 17 and a half rather than 18 must finish an approved program of 30 theory hours and 6 driving hours. No course you choose yourself dismisses a ticket or lowers points; points fall away with clean driving or through a Driver Improvement School that PennDOT orders, and drivers 55 or older can take an approved course that earns an insurance discount of 5% or more.
