Texas drivers ed guide
Every Texas teen must finish a TDLR-approved driver ed course of 24 classroom and 44 in-car hours, with the learner license at 15 and the provisional license at 16; adults 18 to 24 need at least the 6 hour adult course, and drivers 25 and older need none. After a ticket, an eligible driver can have it dismissed through a driving safety course once a year. Texas has had no license points since 2019, but conviction counts can still bring a suspension.
